How to read the tables
- Toughness is the zombie’s body health. A number in brackets, such as “(+1,100)”, is extra armor on top.
- Armor type: Type 1 armor (helmets, buckets) sits on the head; Type 2 armor (screen doors, newspapers, books) is a held shield. Magnet-shroom and its fusions can pull off many metal armors.
- Counter comes from the wiki’s listed weakness and strategy notes.
Quick counters for common threats
| Threat | What the wiki recommends |
|---|---|
| Buckets, football helmets and other metal armor | Magnet-shroom and its fusions remove them; metal-shot plants such as Grey Pea and Bucket-shroom break buckets fast. |
| Gargantuars | Poison is listed as their weakness. Anti-crush plants take only 500 damage per smash instead of being instantly killed. |
| Zomboni | Jalapeno removes ice trails; Spikeweed variants, Obsidian Tall-nut and Cherrizilla are listed counters. |
| Bungee and air zombies | Umbrella Leaf and its fusions; some Umbrella Leaf ultimates can fling Imps out of the screen. |
Main zombies

| Zombie | Toughness | Armor | Traits | How to counter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 270 (+20) | 20 (Type 1) | Is able to fly over ground and water plants. | Weak to: Cactus, Blover, Cattail | |
| 270 (+1100) | 1100 (Type 1) | Buckets can be removed by Magnet-shrooms. | Weak to: Magnet-shroom One of their weaknesses is the Magnet-shroom and some of its fusions, as it removes the bucket from his head and renders him as tough as normal zombies. | |
| 720 | — | Descends from the sky and steals a plant. Prioritizes Pumpkins. | Weak to: Umbrella Leaf can be bounced away by Umbrella Leaf and its fusions. | |
| 850 | — | Throws basketballs at the leftmost plant in its lane. When all 25 basketballs are used, moves forward and crushes plants. | Weak to: Umbrella Leaf, Spikeweed | |
| 270 (+370) | 370 (Type 1) | Conehead Zombies are zombies with roadcones on their head for protection. While they are relatively easy to defeat, they are slightly more difficult to kill than both the Imp and the ordinary Zombie. | Not documented on the wiki yet | |
| 720 | — | Tunnels underground and appears on the left side of the lawn. | Weak to: Magnet-shroom, Potato Mine, Miner Pumpkin, Mechanized Pumpkin, Obsidian Mine-nut Along with the plants mentioned above, another simple counter to Digger Zombie are plants that can attack backwards, such as Split Pea or Cattail. | |
| 720 | — | Jumps over the first plant he runs into. Can be blocked by tall plants. | Weak to: Tall-nut, Tangle Kelp, Cherrizilla | |

| 720 | — | Will sometimes explode and insta-kill surrounding plants. | Weak to: Magnet-shroom, Doom-nut, Pumpklown, Mechanized Pumpkin It is recommended to use Magnet-shrooms to disarm the box, use high damage plants to kill the zombie before it gets close, or simply have plants that are immune to Jack-in-the-box explosions at the frontline, such as Doom-nut, Pumpklown, or Mechanized Pumpkin. | |
| 720 (+720) | 720 (Type 2) | Can use the ladder to ignore plant defenses. Laddered plants cannot be moved by gloves. | Weak to: Ladders can be destroyed by Cremator damage. Ladders can be removed by Magnet-shrooms. | |
| 270 (+200) | 200 (Type 2) | Travels normally at first, but speeds up after losing his newspaper (movement speed x2.5, attack speed x1.5). | Weak to: Piercing plants, lobber plants, and splash attacks. Lobber plants such as Cabbage-pults can attack him from above, Spikeweeds can harm him from below, and piercing plants such as Fume-shrooms and their fusions can pierce the newspaper, damaging both the zombie and the newspaper and potentially killing the zombie before it becomes enraged. | |

| 720 | — | Jumps over the first plant he runs into. Can be blocked by Tall-nuts. | Weak to: Tall-nut | |

| 270 | — | Submerges to avoid straight-firing projectile attacks. | Weak to: Wall-nut, Tangle Kelp, lobbed plants | |
| 1350 | — | Freezes plants in a 3×3 area around it. May carry Puzzle pieces in Odyssey: Evolved. | Weak to: Jalapenos, Torchwoods, and Ice-shrooms are immune to this effect. | |
| 270 | — | Zombies are the most basic of all the "zombie" units. Having no special defensive equipment or travel abilities, these zombies are susceptible to any type of attack and are slow to approach the player's house. | Not documented on the wiki yet | |

| 12000 | — | On the right side of the lawn, every 4-8 seconds, phases through up to 4 tiles ignoring plants, reaching as far into the row as possible and dealing damage along the way. If no bypassable plants are present, dashes forward 1 tile instead. | Not documented on the wiki yet | |
| 6000 (+6000) | 6000 (Type 2) | Fires 4 explosive cherries every 1.5 seconds even before losing his newspaper.. Short-term invincibility and increased speed (movement speed x10, attack speed x3) after his newspaper is broken.. | Weak to: Cherry-immune plants such as Cherry-nut | |
| 12000 | — | Ignores plants for 3s while sliding in with a moonwalk to the 4th column. Then summons 8 Super Dancing Pole Vaulters. | The best strategy to stop it is to use half attacking plants that push it back or kill it instantly. | |

Spawns Abyssal Imps when he smashes the ground.. | An effective strategy involves plants that can't be squashed (such as Cherrizilla and Obsidian Tall-nut without a pumpkin) on the right column, while high-DPS plants on the left can safely kill it. | |
| 48000 | — | Provides 80% damage reduction, 20% dodge chance, and 20% speed bonus to the entire field.. Upon death, the Imp King is ejected and walks off-screen. | Not documented on the wiki yet | |

| 24000 (+24000) | 24000 (Type 1) | Summons Giga Trident-nut Zombies on all lanes upon its appearance.. Throws a massive trident at a fixed angle, instantly killing most plants. | Leader Recommended to freeze him first before he throws divine trident at your defense (Its better to use slow mode first before doing that), then finish him off by using high DPS-Based plants such as Helios Cabbage or Storm Gatling+Tycoon Torch/Inferno-squorch . | |
| 6000 (+15000. +3000) | — | Upon losing his newspaper, he briefly becomes invincible and converts up to 30 zombies into enraged Gatling Cherry Newspaper Zombies. | Weak to: Spikeweed/Spikerock (pops his wheelchair tire preventing him from progressing further), Umbrella Boom (can deflect lobbed cherry projectiles), any cherry-resistance plant. | |
| 48000 | — | Emerges from her box at regular intervals, causing one of the following effects at random: Summons Clown-in-the-Box Zombies on every tile of the fifth column and each column to its right. As above but summons Clown-on-the-Pogo Zombies instead. | Weak to: Pumpklown, Mechanized Pumpkin, Armor Pumpkin | |

Other zombies
Zombies the wiki has not sorted into a group yet.
| Zombie | Toughness | Armor | Traits | How to counter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6000 (+6000) | 6000 | After 10s of incapacitation, they revive with full health, charge forward 2.5 tiles (which deals 500 damage to all plants they collide with), and trigger a Jack-in-the-Box explosion. | Weak to: Chomper For a cheap way to kill this zombie, place Ice-shroom as soon they appears, then place a Chomper on any of them. | |
| 45000 (1st phase in Dr. Zomboss' Revenge) 225000 (The Cream of the Crop) 450000 (Level 15 in Abyss or summoned) | — | Can squash unsquashable plants Summons zombies Creates Fire/Ice balls Summons bungees and throws vans | Weak to: Bowling nuts in first lane The best plants to counter are Solar Emper-nut with Giant Sun-nut or Giant Wall-nut and better if theres plants that give fire effect to receive more damage (NOTE: these need to be redirected in the first lane, since thats the only lane zomboss takes bowling nut damage). | |
| 270 | — | — | Not documented on the wiki yet | |
| 1000 | 0 | Guarantee headshot plants | Weak to: Almost everything Due to this zombie not having any armor, they die to almost everything (Commonly insta-plants such as 30px Doom-shroom) | |
| 3000 | — | dashes incredibly fast towards the house when entering the battlefield, stopping at the 4th column or upon hitting a plant, after which it summons 4 Dancing Pole Vaulters. Damage is reduced 90% while sliding. | Since the summoned Dancing Pole Vaulters can't summon any Backup Pole Vaulters when trying to jump a Tall-nut and its fusions, at least two columns planted with them can stop most of them. | |
| 8888 (+8888) | — | Bambomb deals 15x damage to s. | Weak to: Bambomb |
Frequently Asked Questions
How many zombies are in PvZ Fusion?
The PvZ Fusion Wiki currently has pages for about 170 zombies. This guide lists the 168 that have health data on the wiki.
What is the hardest zombie in PvZ Fusion?
The Purgatory and Tier 3 Evolved zombies have the highest numbers. For example, the Abyssal Gargantuar has 32,000 toughness plus 32,000 armor and gives a damage reduction to all zombies on screen.
How do I deal with Buckethead and Football Zombies?
Use Magnet-shroom or its fusions to pull off their metal armor. The removed bucket can then be used to make metal fusions such as Buck-nut and Steel Pumpkin.
What beats Gargantuars?
The wiki lists poison as their weakness. Plants that cannot be crushed, such as Cherrizilla and Obsidian Tall-nut, help hold them, while high-damage plants from the S tier finish them off.
Where can I find the best plants to counter zombies?
See our PvZ Fusion tier list for the strongest plants, and the PvZ Fusion recipes list for how to make them.
