What is PvZ Fusion?

PvZ Fusion (Plants vs. Zombies: Fusion) is a fan-made game that lets you combine plants into hybrids with new abilities. It is originally a Chinese game; English players use a community translation. According to the PvZ Fusion Wiki FAQ, it runs on PC and Android and is not available on iOS.

How fusion works

  • Plant a plant on the lawn, then plant a second, compatible plant on the same tile. The two merge into the fusion result.
  • Plants that can fuse glow when you are holding a compatible seed packet, so you can see valid pairs before you place them.
  • Fusing usually costs the sun of both ingredients added together. For example, Peashooter (100) + Sunflower (50) = Solar-shooter for 150 sun.
  • Fusions can be fused again. Peashooter + Peashooter makes a Repeater, Repeater + Peashooter makes a Split Pea, and Split Pea + Peashooter makes a Gatling Pea.
  • Fusing Wall-nuts restores their toughness, which is a cheap way to repair a damaged wall.

What the first Adventure levels teach

Adventure is the main campaign, with 45 levels across five areas (Day, Night, Pool, Fog and Roof). The early levels double as tutorials:

LevelWhat you learn
1Plant a Sunflower, fuse a Peashooter on it to make a Solar-shooter, then fuse Peashooters into a Gatling Pea.
2Plants that can fuse glow when you hold another plant. Introduces Cherry Bomb and the Conehead Zombie.
3Fusing Wall-nuts restores their toughness. Introduces Wall-nut and the Buckethead Zombie.
4Unlocks the Glove, which moves plants and can fuse a plant by moving it onto another. Introduces the Pole Vaulting Zombie.
5Introduces Potato Mine and the Peashooter Zombie. After this level you are ready to unlock Super Fusions such as Cherry-bomber.

Glove, Shovel and Mallet

ToolHow you get itWhat it does
ShovelAvailable from the start.Removes a plant instantly with no cooldown. Some plants trigger effects when dug up.
GloveAdventure level 4.Moves a plant without removing it, keeping its fusion. Move a plant onto another to fuse them. The Fandom wiki lists a 10-second cooldown (3 seconds for small plants like Puff-shroom, Lily Pad and Flower Pot). On PC, V toggles the Zombie Glove.
MalletAdventure stage 31.Deals 5,000 damage to zombies in a 2×2 area, then has a 30-second cooldown.
FertilizerAdventure stage 13.Evolves certain plants, resets cooldowns and fully heals a plant.

Zombie drops such as Buckets and Football Helmets can be fused onto plants too. Magnet-shroom pulls them off zombies. See the PvZ Fusion zombies guide for which zombies drop what.

Coins and Coffee Beans

  • Marigold and its fusions generate coins. Coins only last for the current game.
  • 1,000 coins buy one Coffee Bean. Coffee Beans upgrade Silver plants into Golden plants and pay for Golden plants’ Ultimate attacks.
  • Every 500 coins spent returns 25 sun.

Beginner tips

  • Build sun first. Solar-shooter and Twin Sunflower pay for everything else. Our PvZ Fusion tier list shows which plants are worth the sun later.
  • Beat Fusion Challenges early. Each one permanently unlocks an Advanced fusion such as Cherry-bomber or Infernowood.
  • Use the Glove. It lets you fuse plants already on the lawn and save a plant that is about to be eaten.
  • Repair walls by fusing. Fusing onto a Wall-nut restores its toughness.
  • Start on a lower difficulty. Difficulty 4 and 5 change zombie stats, not just numbers.

Black screen or long cooldowns fix

If the game shows a black screen or plant cooldowns look far too long, the PvZ Fusion Wiki FAQ says the cause is your system’s language or region. Some regions use a decimal comma, so the game may read “7.5 seconds” as “75 seconds”. The fix is to set your PC or Android language or region to English or Chinese.
