PvZ Fusion Odyssey Mode Guide: Unlock, Modes & Shop
Odyssey is PvZ Fusion’s endgame. It has the strongest fusions in the game, tougher zombies, modifiers you draft between rounds and a shop for the best plants. What is Odyssey?
Odyssey was added in the v2.0 Pool Update. The word means two things: the highest class of fusion plants, and the game modes where those plants can be used. Odyssey modes play like Survival but add Odyssey zombies, which are much stronger than normal ones, and Odyssey fusions, which are far stronger than Advanced fusions. Open it from the key icon on the title screen.
How to unlock Odyssey fusions
- Finish the regular Adventure mode. That opens Odyssey: Adventure and the other modified Adventure modes.
- Play through Odyssey: Adventure. Each level focuses on one plant, and finishing levels unlocks the formulas for lower-tier Odyssey fusions (required since v2.3).
- In Odyssey challenges, lower-tier plants whose formula you own are available automatically.
- Higher-tier (Strong/Epic) Odyssey plants are bought in the Odyssey shop with points you earn during the run.

Odyssey sub-modes
| Mode | How it differs |

| Survival (Classic) | 21 rounds over 7 maps; pick a modifier after each round. |
| Last Stand | Like Survival, but the game pauses after every flag and gives you sun to build. You can change loadouts mid-run. |
| Reincarnation | After stage 21 you loop back to stage 1, keeping modifiers and money (plants and sun reset). |
| Rush Mode | Only 1 round per map; cheap shop. |
| Evolved | Pick a faction (Land Legion or Amphibious Corps) and a hero with unique perks. The wiki marks this section as outdated. |
| Purgatory | After every plant modifier you must also take a zombie modifier, and pick a mini-boss after every shop. |
| Cursed Purgatory | Purgatory with five curses and five blessings (details below). |
| Investment | Fixed points per round, a shop after every round and plant “affinities” that level up with modifiers. Has a normal and a harder Challenge version. |

How Odyssey: Survival works
Each map lasts 3 rounds, then the map changes: Day → Night → Pool → Fog → Roof → Roof (Dusk) → Roof (Night), for 21 rounds in total. After each round you choose a modifier that lasts for the rest of the run. When the map changes you can unlock a new high-tier Odyssey plant.
Modifiers (buffs)
Odyssey modifiers change plants, zombies or both. Some examples from the wiki’s list:
- Glove cooldown is halved.
- Plants’ damage +20%, or zombies take 20% more damage.
- Each sun is worth one size more (for example, a normal 25 sun becomes 50).
- Gain 3,000 sun, then double your total sun (one-time).
- Plants’ recharge is halved.
- Zombies take an extra 1,800 damage once they have taken more than 1,800.
In Purgatory and Investment, zombie modifiers are forced on you and cannot be skipped.
The Odyssey shop
The shop sells special modifiers, plant synergies and Epic Odyssey fusions. You pay with Odyssey points earned by killing zombies. A Reddit player guide notes that in Survival the shop first appears in round 5 and then every 3rd round.
Purgatory and Cursed Purgatory
Purgatory mini-bosses you choose from include Queen Jill-in-the-Box, Giga Football Striker, Giga Football Archduke, Pozeidon, Professor Cherry-Z and Jackson Worldwide.

Legendary Odyssey plants
Legendary Odyssey plants have no recipe. Zombies can drop them as seed packets in Harvest mode, they can appear rarely at the end of rounds in Evolved, and the “10 random Legendary Odyssey” buff can roll them in Investment. The wiki.gg list:

Tips
- Clear Odyssey: Adventure first so all lower-tier formulas are ready.
- Save points for the shop’s Epic fusions. Our PvZ Fusion tier list ranks the strongest Odyssey plants, such as Gatling Cherrybomber and Gatling Doom.
- A Reddit player recommends starting Odyssey on difficulty 3, because 4 and 5 are much harsher.
- Use I, Zombie sandbox or practice runs to test builds before Purgatory.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I unlock Odyssey mode in PvZ Fusion?

Why can’t I fuse Odyssey plants?
